The Textiles Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of Textile Purchasing Agents and collaborating with Supply Chain and cross-functional teams. This role is critical in sourcing textiles and leather, managing the Supply Chain to ensure quality, timely delivery, and managing partnerships with textile suppliers.  

Essential Procurement Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee the work of Purchasing Agents, while actively supporting the development of their skills.
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships, including metric reporting and performance goal setting.
  • Implement process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee Fabric Database management to ensure data integrity
  • Hold suppliers accountable for rules and guidelines for graded partnerships
  • Participate in short-term and long-range planning to support business goals.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.  Also, serve as an escalation point to the textile purchasing agents for root cause analysis and resolution.  
  • Purchase goods and services for the company.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
  • Collaborate with logistics and inventory management teams to optimize the supply chain.
  • Cooperate with the Marketing team to assist in new product launches.
  • Provide accurate lead times for critical materials to ensure realistic scheduling and planning while serving as an escalation point for backorder communication and improvements
  • Assist manufacturing with textile-related issues, and negotiate corrective actions with suppliers

Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience of textile and/or upholstery industry desired
  • Experience in procurement preferred
  • Ability to manage people and projects to establish clear goals and ensure successful delivery.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
