Textiles Purchasing Agent
Position Summary: The Textiles Buyer plays a pivotal role in supporting procurement operations by managing daily purchasing activities with textiles and leather suppliers. This position is essential for ensuring timely procurement of goods and services to meet company needs efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute purchase orders, manage requisitions, and oversee the procurement process for textiles, leathers, and various upholstery supplies.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, including performance evaluations and collaboration on quality improvement and cost management initiatives.
- Monitor inventory levels and participate in stock planning to optimize availability and minimize shortages.
- Track and manage purchase orders to ensure timely receipt of goods and report exceptions, such as backorders, promptly
- Ensure fabric data and pricing details are accurate in fabric database.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with other departments, including scheduling, manufacturing, and customer service, regarding fabric deliveries and delays.
- Collaborate with marketing for data management and new fabric product additions
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams regarding fabric quality issues, and escalate when necessary.
Skills and Abilities:
- Preferred 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
- Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management tools
- Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions to support purchasing objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to detail in managing procurement processes and ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Proactive in identifying issues and suggesting solutions to optimize procurement operations.
